Where is KINTO from?

KINTO is a Japanese brand that develops coffeeware, teaware, tableware, and lifestyle accessories valuing the balance between usability and aesthetics. Learn more in our ABOUT page.

Where can I see KINTO products?

Currently we do not have our own physical store, but you can find KINTO products in retailers around the world. Please check our list of partners by using this link. 2. Product Care & Maintenance


Two of the same product do not look identical, is this a flaw?

Variations may occur in product shape, color, and texture due to the nature of the material and manufacturing process. We celebrate subtly varying expressions among different pieces as their charm and beauty.


Porcelain

How do I care for porcelain items?

KINTO's porcelain products are dishwasher and microwave safe.

For long use, please handle with care. When using in the microwave, do not overheat or heat without water. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand.

What is meant by variation in glaze?

Depending on the type of glaze, products may take on varieagated texture on the surface. This is a unique effect called yo-hen in Japanese, and it is a color transformation that appears on the porcelain after firing in the kiln. If pieces are from different production runs, they may also take on slightly varying shades of color.

What causes gray marks on my tableware?

After use of metal utensils, gray marks may become noticeable on the surface of tableware. These are called metal marks, and they are caused by the friction between porcelain and metal. If the porcelain products have clear glaze, these marks are not easily noticeable. In light color or matte glaze products , they may become more apparent.

The marks are traces of metal that can be removed. We recommend using a soft cleanser such as Bar Keeper's Friend and gently rubbing with a wet cloth or sponge.


Glass

How do I care for glassware items?

KINTO's glassware products are dishwasher safe.

For long use, please handle with care. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand. While the glass is hot, do not pour cold liquids into it and do not place it on a wet cloth or a wet surface. Sudden temperature change may break or shatter the product.

If the product is made of heat-resistant glass, it is also microwave safe. When using in the microwave, do not overheat or heat without water.

If there are small bubbles in the glassware, is it a defect?

No, due to characteristics of the material and manufacturing process, some glassware may contain tiny air bubbles and dots. However, they do not affect the quality of the product.

What does "maximum temperature differential" mean?

With KINTO's heat-resistant glassware, we note that the "maximum temperature differential" is 120°C/248°F. This means that when the glass is cooled or heated rapidly, it can tolerate without breaking if the sudden temperature change is within the range of 120°C/248°F. This does not mean that 120°C/248°F is the maximum temperature limit.

Can glass teapots be heated on direct fire?

Glass teapots cannot be used on direct fire. However, UNITEA one touch teapot can be used with tea light candles.


Wood

How do I care for wooden items?

KINTO's products made of wood are not recommended for the dishwasher.

After use, please clean the surface of the product with dry or tightly wrung out dishcloth. Avoid direct sunlight, dry well after use and store in a dry place. Do not soak in water or place near open flames.

Due to the characteristic of natural wood, there may be variances in the color and grain patterns.

Plastic

How do I care for plastic items?

KINTO's products made of plastic are dishwasher safe. They are not recommended for the microwave.

When putting in the dishwasher, please store it in the upper basket to avoid force and weight applied to it. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand. Do not place near open flames.

Some products may have thin lines on the surface, or slight roughness on the surface due to steps in the manufacturing process such as molding and polishing.

Are your products BPA-free?

Yes, all of KINTO's products are BPA free.


Stainless steel

How do I care for stainless steel items?

KINTO's vacuum insulated stainless steel tumblers are not safe for use in the microwave, oven, or dishwasher as it may affect the insulation technology. We recommend hand washing.

For other stainless steel products, they are dishwasher safe. They are not safe for use in the microwave.

Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand. To prevent rust, we recommend washing and drying well after use. Store it away from other metals.

Are there drinks that are not suitable for my vacuum insulated tumbler?

Please do not put in dry ice or carbonated beverage as the product may expand and break. You can use it with dairy products, fruit juices, and sports drinks but we recommend not leaving the drink inside for too long as it may spoil or cause rust on tumbler.

Can I use bleach to clean my vacuum insulated tumbler?

Please avoid using chlorine bleach as it may cause rust. In the case you find rust-like spots inside the tumbler, we recommend the following steps to clean: 1) Fill the tumbler with warm water and citric acid in the ratio of 10:1, 2) Wash with a soft sponge after soaking for 2-3 hours, 3) Rinse well.

Can I heat my pour over kettle on an induction cooktop?

KINTO's pour over kettles are not induction compatible due to the size of the bottom diameter. The kettle has a bottom diamter of 90mm, and this does not meet the base diameter of standard induction cooktops. The kettle can be used on direct fire. Please remember to adjust the flame so that it does not heat the handle.

What do I do if I need to change my order or shipping information?

Please contact us at info@kinto-europe.com with your name, order number and requested change. If your order has not shipped, we will do our very best to accommodate your requests.

When will my order ship?

Your order is typically shipped within 1-2 business days.

After your order is shipped out, the estimated time of delivery varies by region. The following are general references.
Netherlands: 1-2 business days
France, Germany: 2-3 business days
UK, Spain, Italy: 3-4 business days

To which countries do you deliver to?

We currently ship within the EU. We do not offer international shipping.

What if I'm not satisfied after receiving the product?

Please contact us within 14 calendar days of receiving your order at info@kinto-europe with your name, order number, and photos of the damaged item. Our customer service will contact you upon evaluating your case.

We accept all major credit cards including and iDEAL.
