A Morning with KINTO

Photo / video essay by Tina Sosna

One year ago we decided to move back to the countryside. To a small village in the middle of Thuringia, Germany where I lived for eleven years at younger age. I grew up in the house I am living now with my boyfriend. Right next to the river and willow trees, surrounded by forests on hills that we can see when we look out of our windows. We enjoy this calm life here with our cat, spending our free time working in the garden, caring for our plants and flowers and soaking in our surrounding when we go for walks in the neighbourhood. Beside my work as a photographer and illustrator I love to fill my days with preparing bread and really taking the time to create something delicious for my little family.

Within this year our home slowly became more and more ours. Old childhood memories were combined with new thoughts, and new furniture were accompanied with old pieces that we fell in love with a long time ago. We especially love our living room with the beautiful lighting and the warm wooden floor.

In the little dining corner right next to the window we take our time to prepare for the day with a delicious breakfast that includes homemade bagels and everything our garden offers already. Selecting beautiful tableware and adding little treats that will calm our minds. We quietly enjoy the sounds of chirping birds, crispy granola, fresh fruits and cutting the bagels while our mint tea forms little steam clouds releasing them into the room. This is the moment when our day begins.
