Make Delicious Rice with KAKOMI Rice Cooker

Rice Dish

Ingredients
[1 cup] 150g rice 200ml water
[2 cups] 300g rice 400ml water

1. Rinse rice gently with water, let it rest for 20 minutes in a bowl and drain.
2. Put rice and water in the rice cooker.
3. Set the inner lid and outer lid so that steam vents are not aligned, then set on medium heat.
4. It will start to boil in about 5-6 (8-9) minutes. When steam appears from the steam vent, wait one minute and turn the heat down to very low.
5. Maintain very low heat for 6-8 (8-10) minutes, then turn off heat.
6. Let it settle for 10-15 minutes and remove the lid to serve.

Rice with Cooked Corn

Ingredients
300g (2 cups) rice / 400ml water / 1 ear of corn on the cob / 1 teaspoon olive oil / 2 pinches of salt

1. Rinse rice with water, let it rest for 20 minutes in a bowl and drain.
2. Cut corncob in half and scrape off the corn kernels using knife.
3. Put rice, water, olive oil and salt in the donabe and put corncob and kernels on top.
4. Set the inner lid and outer lid so that steam vents are not aligned, then set on medium heat.
5. It will start to boil in about 9-10 minutes. When steam appears from the steam vent, wait one minute and turn the heat down to very low.
6. Let it settle for 10-15 minutes and remove the lid to serve.
7. Remove the corncob and mix well before serving.

Rice Porridge

Ingredients
75g (0.5 cup) rice / 400ml water

1. Rinse rice with water, let it rest for 20 minutes in a bowl and drain.
2. Put rice and water in the rice cooker.
3. Set the inner lid and outer lid so that steam vents are not aligned, then set on medium heat.
4. It will start to boil in about 6 minutes. When steam appears from the steam vent, wait one minute and turn the heat down to very low.
5. Maintain very low heat for 10 minutes, then turn off heat.​ ​
6. Let it settle for 10-15 minutes and remove the lid to serve.

*Please adjust heat level as water may boil over.


Brown Rice

Ingredients
[1 cup] 150g brown rice / 250ml water
[2 cups] 300g brown rice / 500ml water

1. Rinse brown rice with water, let it soak for 7 hours in a bowl and drain.
2. Put brown rice and water in the rice cooker.
3. Set the inner lid and outer lid so that steam vents are not aligned, then set on medium heat.
4. Boiling in 5 to 6 (8 to 9) minutes. After steaming out, make it extremely low heat after 1 minute. 5. Heating for 18 (20) with a very low heat, turn off the fire.
6. Let it settle for 15 minutes and remove the lid to serve.
